Washington, DC - This week, House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) will travel to Florida to campaign on behalf of Democratic candidates.
On Wednesday, Hoyer will attend an event in support of candidate Nancy Soderberg (FL-06). Ms. Soderberg is a former White House Deputy National Security Advisor and diplomat, and she currently serves as Director of the Public Service Leadership Program at the University of North Florida.
Thursday morning, Hoyer will join freshman Rep. Stephanie Murphy (FL-07) in Orlando for tours of two innovative Florida manufacturing companies: Astronics and AVT Simulation. At both companies, Hoyer and Murphy will discuss House Democrats' Make It In America plan to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship so that small business can start-up and create jobs here in the U.S. Later on Thursday, Hoyer will attend a fundraiser for Rep. Murphy, a former national security specialist at the Defense Department, who is running for re-election and is part of the DCCC Frontline program.
On Friday, Hoyer will travel to Tampa for a fundraiser in support of Rep. Kathy Castor (FL-14). Previously a member of the Hillsborough County Commission and an attorney, Rep. Castor was elected to Congress in 2006.
During the last election cycle, Hoyer traveled across the country raising or contributing $8.6 million for Democrats in key races. This will be his fifteenth trip campaigning for Democratic incumbents and challengers since the start of the 2018 election cycle.
