Washington, DC - This week, House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) will be in Texas and Utah in support of Democratic candidates for the House of Representatives.
Today, Hoyer traveled to El Paso, where he attended a campaign event for candidate Veronica Escobar (TX-16). Escobar formerly served as El Paso County Judge and, if elected, would be the first Latina to represent Texas in the U.S. Congress.
Hoyer will be in Utah on Thursday, where he will join candidate Ben McAdams (UT-04) for a campaign event. A former Utah State Senator, McAdams has served as Mayor of Salt Lake County since 2013. This district has been designated as "Red-to-Blue" by the DCCC.
Hoyer has made eighteen trips in support of Democratic challengers and incumbents so far this cycle, raising or contributing $1.9 million toward winning a Democratic House Majority in 2018.
