Washington, DC - This week, House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) is traveling to New Jersey and New York in support of freshman Democrats running for re-election.
On Monday, Hoyer is in New Jersey for a tour of a manufacturing facility with Rep. Andy Kim (NJ-03), followed by a fundraiser in support of his re-election that evening. Kim, a former Obama Administration national security adviser, defeated incumbent Republican Rep. Tom MacArthur in 2018.
Following this event, Hoyer is traveling to northern New Jersey for an event with leaders from the local Jewish community in support of Rep. Tom Malinowski (NJ-07). A former Assistant Secretary of State in the Obama Administration and National Security Council Senior Director in the Clinton Administration, in 2018 Rep. Malinowski unseated longtime Republican Rep. Leonard Lance.
Hoyer will be in New York on Wednesday evening for a fundraiser supporting Rep. Max Rose (NY-11). Rose, a decorated Afghanistan veteran who later worked for the Brooklyn District Attorney and held a leadership position at Brightpoint Health, won election in 2018 by defeating incumbent Republican Rep. Dan Donovan.
Since the start of the 2020 election cycle, Hoyer has visited twelve districts in nine states, raising or contributing $756,000 in support of House Democrats.
