Washington, DC - House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) will travel to Nevada, California, and Colorado this week to campaign for House Democrats.
On Sunday, Hoyer will join Rep. Steven Horsford (NV-04) for a campaign event in Las Vegas, Nevada. Horsford, who won re-election to the House in 2018 after having previously represented the district from 2013-2015, is a former state legislator and businessman, born and raised in Nevada. He is running for re-election in 2020. On Tuesday morning, Hoyer will be in California in support of freshman Rep. Katie Hill's (CA-25) re-election campaign. In 2018, Hill defeated a two-term Republican incumbent, running on a strong record of service as executive director of a nonprofit serving the homeless throughout California.
On Tuesday afternoon, Hoyer will travel to Colorado to participate in a campaign event supporting freshman Rep. Jason Crow (CO-06). A former U.S. Army Ranger who served with distinction in Iraq and Afghanistan, Crow defeated a five-term Republican incumbent in 2018 to flip a key seat in a DCCC-designated "Red-to-Blue" district. Crow is seeking re-election next year.
Since the start of the 2020 election cycle, Hoyer has already traveled to 18 districts in 14 states, raising or contributing $3.2 million to support Democratic candidates and incumbents and help grow the House Democratic Majority in 2020.
