Hoyer Heads to Wisconsin and Minnesota in Support of Democrats

Washington, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) will travel to Wisconsin and Minnesota on Thursday and Friday to participate in campaign events with Democrats running in 2018.

On Thursday evening, Hoyer will join incumbent Rep. Ron Kind (WI-03) for a fundraiser in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  Kind, once an aide to former Senator William Proxmire and later a La Crosse County prosecutor, has served in Congress since 1997.  He is running for re-election in 2018.

Hoyer will be in Minnesota on Friday, where he will attend two events in support of candidate Angie Craig (MN-02).  A former healthcare executive and Democrats' 2016 nominee for the seat, Craig is running for the Democratic nomination to take on freshman Republican Rep. Jason Lewis. In the evening, Hoyer will join candidate Dean Phillips (MN-03) for a fundraiser.  Phillips is a successful entrepreneur and philanthropist who is running for the Democratic nomination to challenge incumbent Republican Rep. Erik Paulsen, who has been in office since 2009 and is running for re-election.  Craig and Phillips are both DCCC "Red to Blue" designated candidates.

Since the start of the 2018 election cycle, Hoyer has made twenty-two trips in support of Democratic candidates and incumbents, raising or contributing $3.3 million toward winning a Democratic House Majority.
